REAL LIFE TESTIMONIES
REAL LIFE TESTIMONIES
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the Word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto death.
Revelations 12:11
I grew up without any real foundation in faith. I was told to believe whatever I wanted, but instead of freedom, that left me in a constant state of emptiness and hopelessness. My childhood was marked by addiction, abuse, neglect, and a broken home. By the time I was young, I had already turned to the streets, and that path led me into a life of crime, incarceration, and homelessness. For years, my life was a cycle—running the streets, getting locked up, getting out, and going right back in. I spent over 15 years in and out of prison. Even though I gave my life to Christ in 2009, I hadn’t fully surrendered and was still holding on to parts of my old identity.
Everything changed in 2022 while serving a 2½-year sentence. I finally surrendered everything to Jesus—not just believing in Him, but making Him truly Lord over my life. Prison didn’t suddenly open its doors, but something far greater happened—God began transforming me from the inside out. He broke off the old identity I had carried for so long—the person known as “Trubble”—and showed me who I really am: Chris, a man called to carry Christ and reflect His light. After my release, I connected with Healing of Hearts Ministries and began going into the streets, neighborhoods, and the darkest places across Washington State, where I discovered an even deeper calling.
I realized there was another group just as forgotten—the men and women still behind the walls. Having spent 15 years in and out of prison and living a life of addiction and survival since I was 11, I know what it feels like to be alone, to feel forgotten, and to want to escape through drugs just to numb the pain. But I also know that God meets people in those very places. What once was my greatest pain has now become my greatest message. Today, God is using my story to bring hope to the forgotten—both on the streets and behind prison walls—reminding them that they are not alone, they are not too far gone, and their story is not over.
My name is Shalesha there was a time in my life when addiction had completely taken over. I lived on the streets living in tents, lost and broken, cycling through more than 11 years in prison on different sentences. I survived things that should have taken me out including being shot and left for dead. I hit a place so low I couldn’t run anymore, couldn’t pretend anymore. It was there, in that darkness, that I encountered God. When I finally surrendered truly surrendered and gave my life to the Lord, everything began to change. He met me in my pain, restored what I thought was gone forever, and gave me a new identity and a new purpose.
Since that moment, my life has been transformed in ways I never imagined possible. I am no longer defined by my past but by God’s grace and redemption. Today, I serve others, helping those struggling with addiction and homelessness find hope and a way out. I’ve stepped into my calling as a leader, a wife, and a woman of faith, walking boldly in the purpose God has for me. What the enemy meant for harm, God has used for good turning my story into a testimony that proves no one is too far gone for His love to reach and restore.
I am a team leader with Healing of Hearts Ministries; it was serving with them that I met my best friend and husband Christopher Oase. Since giving my life to the Lord, he has used me in ways I’ve never thought possible. I am the proud owner of Clothed with Christ LLC where you wear your testimony, share your faith and celebrate your recovery. My husband and I started this ministry being faithful to the Lord. We both know what it feels like to be locked up and feeling forgotten and what it feels like to be released with nothing. So, we want to be able to bridge the gap and help brothers and sisters get connected as soon as they release. I was addicted to drugs my whole life in and out of prison. I had tried everything to get sober and stay sober, but nothing worked until I found God.
Meet Yeci
Yeci was once homeless addicted to drugs living in the city of Kent. We met Yeci with Healing of Hearts Ministries during one of the Saturday outreach. Yeci was new in recovery and fighting legal matters living in a clean and sober house. She started volunteering with the ministry and soon became a huge asset. In July 2025 she rededicated her life to the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized in Spanaway Lake and since been a true testament that what was once lost can be found.
Yeci is a faithful servant of the Lord and is all BOUT MY FATHERS BIZZNESS. She has dedicated her life to stepping out and being the hands and feet of Christ.
This is Christian when we met him he was 24 years old homeless and addicted to fentanyl. With months of witnessing to him and just showing up sharing the love of Christ he eventually reached out wanting help. We drove him to detox. He completed detox and inpatient treatment. He has his daughter in his life as well as his family. He is no longer homeless or dependent on drugs. But decided to enroll in a long term treatment program where he is thriving, full of life and a beacon of light. The Lord brought Christian in our path and he used us to testify to this young man.
Father we thank you for Christian you were with him when he was at his lowest point on the streets stuck in bondage but Lord you never left him. You were his strength when he was weak. Lord we thank you for the strength and courage he had to take the 1st step toward true restoration. We thank you for taking the desire to use and the cravings away. Lord continue to walk beside Christian and guide his steps toward you Lord. We thank you for leaving the 99 to find the one who was lost but is now found. In Jesus name Amen.
